Supergroup Black Country Communion Announce New Album ‘V’ and Lead Single “Stay Free”

Black Country Communion, the iconic rock supergroup featuring the talents of Joe BonamassaGlenn HughesJason Bonham, and Derek Sherinian, is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of their highly anticipated fifth studio album, V, available worldwide on June 14. To celebrate, fans are treated to the immediate release of the album’s heavy funk lead single, “Stay Free,” out today on all major streaming platforms.

Produced by longtime collaborator Kevin Shirley, ‘V’ marks a monumental chapter in the band’s storied career, embodying a renewed spirit and an evolution of their unmistakable sound. Shirley captures the essence of the band’s journey, stating, “For a band that started out as a collection of the best practitioners of their instruments, they very quickly found a unique sound. This time around, it has more purpose, the riffs are tougher, and there are hooks! Yes, hooks! It’s the most cohesive record, full of soul and grit, and I think this is the one that’s going to be the benchmark for Black Country Communion.”

Glenn agrees, “In my opinion, we had the best time recording this record at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, tons of fun & a magical recording. Meet you inside the Music.”

“Stay Free,” the lead single, is a powerhouse track that blends hard rock’s raw energy with a heavy dose of blues, channelling the spirit of legends like AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. It sets the tone for what fans can expect from ‘V’ – a testament to the band’s dynamic synergy and creative evolution.

Their return with ‘V’ and the single “Stay Free” reaffirms their status as rock royalty and showcases their growth as musicians and storytellers.Kevin Shirley’s insight into the recording process highlights the unique chemistry and camaraderie within the band. “When we convened in 2023 to start recording the album V, it really was like picking up the day after the most recent gig,” Shirley reflects. “The camaraderie is immediately evident. Once they start playing, everyone is deadly serious, and the music sounds like this band, and nothing else sounds like it.”‘V’ is a milestone that celebrates the journey, talent, and vision of Black Country Communion. As the band embarks on this new chapter, they invite fans old and new to join them in experiencing the depth and power of ‘V’ and the electrifying energy of “Stay Free.”

JOANNE SHAW TAYLOR releases new single & video

Joanne Shaw Taylor has an excellent new single out. Check out the info below, as well as US tour dates (coming up soon!), And watch the new video!

After almost a year since the release of her last album “Nobody’s Fool”, the #1 selling blues guitarist Joanne Shaw Taylor launches her electrifying new single, “Sweet ‘Lil Lies,” available now on all streaming platforms. Produced by Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, The Black Crowes) at the illustrious RCA Studio A in Nashville, TN, this song witnesses the magnificent collaboration of top musicians including Rob McNelly (Carrie Underwood, Luke Combs, Buddy Guy) on guitar, Doug Lancio (John Hiatt, Bob Dylan) on rhythm guitar, Alison Prestwood (Blake Shelton, Olivia Newton-John, George Benson) on bass, Jimmy Wallace (Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Gavin DeGraw) on keys, and Anton Fig (David Letterman, Kiss, Joe Bonamassa) on drums & percussion. Released by Joe Bonamassa’s Journeyman Records, the song stands testament to Joanne’s relentless creativity and musical brilliance.

“Sweet ‘Lil Lies” holds a special place for Joanne. “It was the first song I wrote just for this new album,” she recalls. “I’d been messing around with the lead piano part and built the rest of the song around that melody. As soon as I had that main melody, ‘I got sweet little lies, all the time’ stuck in my head on a loop. It probably took me less than an hour to finish it; some songs work like that.” The song delves deep, reflecting the emotional journey of realizing a loved one’s immutable nature and the heart-wrenching decision to walk away.

Having graced us with albums that consistently top the charts, such as her 2019 release ‘Reckless Heart’, 2021’s ‘The Blues Album, and ‘Nobody’s Fool’ in 2022, Joanne shows no signs of slowing down. She’s currently working on her next studio album, promising a mix of evocative guitar riffs, soulful vocals, and ingenious songwriting. Following the release of her anticipated new single, this fall’s 33-date tour promises to be an unmissable journey through both her classic hits and new material. Kicking off at The Rialto Theatre in Tucson, AZ and culminating at the historic Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta, GA, it’s set to be a musical spectacle that underscores why she remains one of the most exciting blues-rock guitarists of the last decade.

JOE BONAMASSA – new single & video out now.

JOE BONAMASSA TOUTS HIS BLUES ROOTS WITH CROWD PLEASING LATEST SINGLE  “I WANT TO SHOUT ABOUT IT”

Having just earned a remarkable 26th #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart for his sprawling and extensive live concert film and album Tales Of Time, the blues rock icon Joe Bonamassa is back with a brand-new single from his highly anticipated new studio album, due out later this year on his J&R Adventures label.

Joe shows off his blues roots with a captivating rendition of “I Want To Shout About It” originally performed by Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters. Bonamassa’s joyful version features solos from Reese Wynans on organ and Paulie Cerra on sax, as well as some killer adlibs from vocalists Dannielle DeAndrea and Charles Jones as the track winds to a close. When Joe recently performed the song on his UK tour, UK music website Sonic Abuse described it as “a glorious, fifties-style boogie.”

Bonamassa called upon his close friend, band mate and co-producer Josh Smith to produce this track. Smith recalls, “Shout About It is a song originally by the great Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters with Darrel Nullisch on vocals. It’s a tough/high song to sing and Joe really pushed himself and nailed it. It’s a real rave up, a party song. Joe has been playing it live lately and the crowds are really digging it!”

Bonamassa has been performing “I Want To Shout About It” live on his current tour and is receiving an enthusiastic response from his audiences. His summer is packed with live shows in the US and Europe beginning with the Capitol Theatre in Yakima, WA on Friday, May 26th and ending May with Kenny Wayne Shepherd at the Backroads Blues Festival in Bend, OR and Seattle, WA.

After 3 weeks of performing on Europe Festivals in July, Joe will be back in the states for a US summer run and to make his debut appearance at the Hollywood Bowl on Wednesday, August 9th, with an exclusive, one-night-only concert experience alongside an orchestra, which will be recorded for his next live concert film.

Then the hardest working bluesman in show business begins his US Fall Tour on October 23rd at The Cannon Center in Memphis, TN, which will take him from coast-to-coast to end at the guitar shaped Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL. For more information and to purchase tickets, click HERE.

Hailed as “a near spiritual experience” by Classic Rock Magazine and featuring songs from his latest #1 studio album, Time Clocks, Bonamassa’s latest live concert release Tales Of Time, captures a stratospheric performance by the blues-rock titan at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, which found his virtuoso guitar style and unique technique and flair elevating the evening to an almost heavenly high. The project was produced by long-time collaborator and producer Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Journey).

“This live show represents our most progressive and largest production to date, focusing on my most ambitious studio album to date,” commented Bonamassa. “My band was a force of nature on this show, and it truly was a special night.” For more information on Tales Of Time, click HERE.
