ROBIN LANE releases new single from Dirt Road To Heaven

Robin Lane latest album of acoustic – folk rock, country, titled Dirt Road To Heaven was released in August of last year. There is a new song / video from it – “Woman Like That”, a catchy tale which talks about trying to deal with a female fan who stalks her. The video appropriately filmed in a campfire setting As one verse goes – “as the years went by she wanted to be thicker than kin, and I couldn’t get her unglued from my skin, just like uriah heep she’s as unctuous as they come, what does she want from me my friend i’m wonderin”

The song features Asa Brebner on banjo and Drew Townson on Irish style electric guitar, while Robin sings and playing acoustic guitar. Robin says the music is “just probably in my blood from listening to Appalachian music while learning guitar and Bert Jansch and the late Sandy Bull (a folk artist). On this, I have banjo flailing style that I kind of do on guitar at the beginning and at the end and in between. I could play that kind of music all day–very soothing and I’ve been accused of a droning sound.”

Robin Lane’s career goes back to the late ’60s in Laurel Canyon, where she sang on Neil Young’s “Round And Round (It Won’t Be Long)”, from his Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere album. She soon relocated to the east coast, and in the late ’70s/ early ’80s formed and recorded with Robin Lane & The Chartbusters.

Dirt Road to Heaven is a collection of Americana music that sounds great alongside artists such as Brandi Carlile and Joan Baez. Robin’s motto of “Music is my healing tool” has paved her uniquely uplifting “dirt road to heaven” process from the get-go.
